Dengue fever is another mosquito-borne disease, caused by the Dengue virus (DENV) and transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. It is common in warm, humid climates.
Common Symptoms of Dengue:
High fever (above 104°F/40°C)
Severe body and joint pain (“breakbone fever”)
Skin rashes (red spots or patches)
Severe headache and eye pain
Nausea, vomiting, and fatigue
Severe cases can lead to Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), which causes internal bleeding, low blood pressure, and organ failure.
