Additionally, a high-salt diet may contribute to osteoporosis, as excessive sodium can cause calcium loss from bones. Processed and fast foods are often loaded with salt, so reducing intake by choosing fresh, whole foods and using herbs or spices instead of salt can help maintain good health. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends consuming no more than 5 grams (about one teaspoon) of salt per day to prevent health complications.
