My loving country Bangladesh is situated in south-east Asia. It became independent from Pakistan in 1971 after a nine months' long bloody war. The land area of Bangladesh is 1,47,570 square kilometers. About 16 crore people live in this small country. Bangladesh is an agricultural country. So most of the people here are farmers. Besides, there are businessmen, fishermen, weavers, potters, artists, doctors, engineers and so on. Most of the people are Muslims. But Hindus, Christians and Buddhists live here in a peaceful atmosphere. Rice with fish and dal is the staple food of the people of Bangladesh. Bread, cakes of different types, sweetmeats, hopscotch are also taken here. The Padma, The Meghna, The Jamuna, The Brahmaputra, etc are the main rivers of Bangladesh. Cox's Bazar sea beach, the Sundarbans, the Ruins of Buddhist Bihara, Kuakata, St. Martin's Island, etc. are the famous places in our country. I love my country very much.
