Modern life is blessed with many things. Newspaper is one of them which helps us to keep abreast of the present world. Newspaper is a printed publication appearing daily. It contains news, advertisements and articles on various subjects. It plays an important role in modern life. It takes the role of spokesmen for people of all classes. It acts as a bridge between the government and the governed. It helps in preventing social exploitation.

Today newspaper has both printed version and online version. So it can meet the demand of all classes of readers. Through online version people can know the happening of the world instantly. Today newspaper covers all kinds of news. It covers current affairs, business news, advertisement, sports news, educational page for students, etc. There are also pages for the columnists where they focus on social incongruity and social prejudice. Thus people can get out of their wrong belief and superstition.

সংবাদপত্র সরকার ও জনগণের মাঝে একটি সেতু হিসেবে কাজ করে। এরা সরকারের বিভিন্ন নীতি, প্রকল্প ও কর্মকাণ্ড সম্বন্ধে জনগনকে সচেতন করে। এভাবে তারা সরকার কর্তৃক নেয়া কোন ভুল সিদ্ধান্তের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ জানাতে পারে। অন্যদিকে, সংবাদপত্র সরকারকেও সাধারণ মানুষের নানাবিধ সমস্যা সম্পর্কে সচেতন করে থাকে।
